2-day Safari to Amboseli National Park

Itinerary

Day 1 – Get yourself to SGR train station in Nairobi and hop into Madaraka express to Emali train station. Travel time is approximately 2 hours. This is an exciting ride starting from buzzing city of Nairobi, traversing extensive Kenya’s landscape into the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Our driver will pick you up from Emali train station at 9:45am. The ride from Emali train station to Maasai Simba Camp is only 35 minutes. Check into your room, have lunch, and get ready for an evening Safari walk with our guide.This is your first encounter with wildlife in prepation for your big day in Amboseli National Park. Return to camp before dusk in time for dinner and overnight.



Day 2 - Depart camp by 7:00am after an early breakfast for your full day safari to Amboseli National Park. We will get you to the park by 7:30am when the wildlife are waking up and ready for the day. Our driver is expert in Amboseli and he will do all that he can to deliver the best game drive for you. Sit back and enjoy large herds of elephants, zebras, waterbucks, wildebeest and hippos as they graze through lush green swamps fed by Kilimanjaro's rainforest. Our driver will come with pack lunch served on top of observation hill with a view of elephants and hippos below against the backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro. A moment poised in the Amboseli landscape. Resume game drive after lunch when the savanna has cooled off and the wildlife are out of the shades for the afternoon grazing. We will get you back to simba camp before dusk. Take a much-needed hot shower and slowly stroll into Oloip house, a cozy common guest room for a glass of wine or cold tusker beer before a scrumptious dinner.

Optional: You have the option of doing cultural activities the first day of arrival instead of Safari walk. On third day before departure you are welcome to go for the morning safari walk or visit with a local women cooperative, visit village elders, or visit a local school. Our driver will get you to the train station on time for your train back to Nairobi or Mombasa.

Cost for the Madaraka Express package is US $550 for two people sharing a room.

Amboseli offers some of the best opportunities to see so many African animals in just a matter of hours. Amboseli National Park is home to large herds of African elephant, buffalo, impala, lion, cheetah, hyena, giraffes, zebra, and wildebeest among other animals. The park is also home to both large and small birds.

An estimated 100 lions are found in and around Amboseli National Park. Our guide knows this land better than anyone around here. He will always do everything he can to locate the lions for you.

The lesser flamingo often migrate by seasons between Lake Baringo, Lake Naivasha, and Lake Amboseli

You will see several species of antelopes such as grant's gazelle, impala, thomson gazzele, gerenuk, among other antelopes in Amboseli National Park.
